| raya.tek is a dive team whose prime purpose is to look for new dive sites in Thailand; from deep and shallow waters, from close to shore and far out to sea, from the sea and fresh water lakes, from anywhere where there could be something new and interesting. Members of the team are mostly dive professionals living in the Phuket area, doing these dives as a hobby. However, there are also experienced divers from elsewhere who come to Thailand for a holiday and are looking for something different, maybe a bit of excitement and adventure.
raya.tek is a dive team not especially concentrating on technical diving. The reason why technical diving is involved is just because many of the untouched dive sites can not be reached by using traditional recreational diving techniques; often we need special techniques and/or equipment. | ![]() |
| raya.tek does not specifically prefer certain recreational or technical diving training organizations. Divers from all training organizations are welcome to join the team. We try to avoid the narrow minded, predominant around the world concerning different diving techniques and equipment configurations. We give everyone the freedom to use their own brains on dive planning, equipment configuration and techniques. Different things suit different people. Of course we are happy to give information and advice based on our own experiences about Thailand’s warm and clear waters, which can some time be hard and demanding due to strong currents. We are also accept with open minds new techniques and equipment configurations that are perceived good by other divers. |

raya.tek does not conduct any diving courses or other training. We organize research trips for experienced divers to places and environments where not many (or nobody) have been before. For some of the organized projects deep diving experience and/or cave diving techniques are required. The team does not take any responsibility for any possible accidents causing injury or death to its members. It is also very important to understand that raya.tek is a “wild” dive team and completely separate thing from Raya Divers PADI 5-star IDC Center. When planning team dives, every member has to evaluate his own skills, appraise them against the difficulty of the mission, make the risk assessment and decide for themselves if they want to participate in the project or not. |
raya.tek team has no special requirements for its members. If you are interested in raya.tek activities, you can join us for free. We will send you news and information about future events by e-mail. However, after you have been diving with us the first time, you will get the final decision about your membership: Either you will get a permanent membership or if we realize that you are a total idiot endangering yourself and others, you might get kicked out from the team forever… :-) |

| Tsunami in 26th of December 2005 stopped the current projects and activities of the team. As everyone understands, everybody here had to concentrate rescuing victims, later assisting locals and finally to rebuild our dive center. For this reason we haven’t had any raya.tek projects for a while but now we are getting back in action! Spring 2006 brings many new adventures, plans are already there, we just need to finalize the dates. If you want to get training for deep and technical diving, please see our website from DIVING COURSES > SPECIALTY COURSES and > OTHER COURSES > TECHNICAL DIVING COURSE If you want to receive information by email about upcoming projects, sign up to our mailing list by sending an email to rayatek@rayadivers.com |
